All my efforts have been disasters :( heres my dismantled numberplate...

I want a piece of metal or plastic perspex, the same size but smooth that i can paint black and drill holes inthe same places to stick the letters on.

(rear view)

If anyone can make me a piece of metal or plastic perspex please get in touch!! im willing to pay good money for it!!

Something thick would be nice, over 3mm with rounded corners like a modern plastic plate.

Whoevers going to do it, i can post you the existing bit of metal *happy*

My other option is, does anyone know how i could get hold of a blank black perspex numberplate?

you could make it from carbon fibre off Ebay. then it would be light and already Black (ish)

place the old one on top, mark around and mark holes then drill and cut. shouldn't be too hard

by the way, the reason for changing it is because its got two many holes drilled through it from over the years, also i hate the ridge that goes round the edges of it.

Im going to repair the letters i have, repaint them, and fix them to a new backing and it will look alot smarter but still have the retro plate feel to it

Hi,
Yuo could get a blank plastic number plate, they're clear, the stick black vinyl on the back then drill and mount your numbers.
Carbon fibre sounds much better though!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Why not get an embossed pressed steel number plate in black/silver letters?

These guys make that style of plate new so I am sure can supply just the plate with no numbers.

Also them pressed ones from shows look cheap and ugly imo.

yeah ive had pressed aluminiums and dont like them. I dont like the silver border they have.

ive contacted this guy about making me some carbon sheet into numberplate sizes in that thickness. Ill see how much it will cost to whether to ahead with it. I might actually stick white letters on, but my 3d retro letters might look really good on it.
