hi

i know this has been coverd before but i was just wondering who actoly uses two bleed valves?

one as a saftey one under the bonet set at max boost, say 20psi for example which would of been set up on a rr etc.
then a in car one that could then work from standerd 10psi (as im going to be using a t2) to 20psi.

how would you plumb it in?
is there any draw backs to this?

cheers

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

i have one, but i have the secod waiting to go in when i can be arsed! lol!

the free leg from the one under bonnet is then connected into the second bleed valve so you regulate that rather than the whole pressure.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Anyone using an aftermarket electronic boost controller ?

They are very good.....

If you have a bleed valve fitted in-car....whats the point of having a second ? You can adjust the boost in the car anyway.

the second is so that you can just open the in car one wide open and your max boost is set.

for example. set it low boost for the launch then hit 2nd/3rd gear and give it more boost. you dont want to be dialling it in to a precise figure down the strip so having the second "limit" already helps a lot.

*smiley*

i plan on using my ecu's boost control at some point in the future. another project though!

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

ive only ever used one, you quickly get used to where is where (ive found anyway)

i used to wind it out with my foot whilst driving, although at avon 05 i was unclipping my harness as i left the start line and winding it out as i went-a solenoid valve was far less frantic last year

im fancying an electronic boost controller, but that going to have to wait for a while :(

with 2 valves you can have 4 boost settings

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

im thinking of the one under the bonnet as a safty one rely.
does it affect it much if you were to have it set up with say 20psi and then run around untill its warmed up or your just pottering about at say 10psi?
would it just run rich? or would it cause alot of problems?

cheers

No amount of bleed valves will offer safety. Only more potential risks.

If you want overboost safety, fit some form of overboost ignition cut.

sorry to drag this old post up, but how many people actually use two bleed valves as discussed here? i have a 3 pronged avonbar one in cab, but i like the idea of fitting one underbonnet adjusted to the max boost, so that do no accidently / tempted to overboost from the in car bleed valve? what are peoples views on fitting the 2 legged type (as linked) inline under the bonnet? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220537042109?ssP...984.m1423.l2649

many thanks, dan
