Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

I couldnt get reverse on minebut could today! lol!

mines internal gear linkage though so thought maybe adjustment.

have you got a centre bias fitted? sometimes those foul?

or maybe the roll pin has moved and is catching the casing?

the rod change bit is the easy bit to check to make sure your getting full movement.

also try it without the engine running and just rock it a bit to get it in. if so then its clutch but i doubt it.

Could also be the quick shift if you have one fitted.

Hi,
What he said. Check over all the external parts first + cotton reels on the remote.

best case scenario, its a linkage problem. If all else fails adjusting the selector linkage try using some molegrips to make sure everything is ok internally, as....:

worst case scenario, the internal bush has slipped within reverse gear making selection impossible

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

wolfie if youcheck every thing and still cant get reverse the i recon the bush has moved inside the gear pushing the gear outwards meaning the the bell lever wont engage.

i have had this happen before on my box, when building i always check the security of the bush, but the have been know to move.

if this is the case the only way is engine out im afraid,

thinking about it it wont be the bush, as the outershaft will stop this, when the bush moves it gets stuck in reverse not the other way round.

sounds like gear lever proplem.

to double check remove lingage from box shaft.

them using a drift slide through roll pin hole and turn all the way clockwise (looking from the back of the engine looking forwards) untill it stops then gently tap with a hammer untill it engages then turn the engine over with wheels in the air and see if the wheel turns backwards or forwards, hopefully backwards.

this should rule out box problem.

my guess is the gear stick end.

i take it the gear leaver pulls up and fully over ok.

also check roll pin hasnt came out some way as this can happen if its an old pin.

dont hessite to ring me neil or pm me.
