Hi, does anyone know what size the flywheel retaining bolt is? as i need to buy a socket to remove it.

Verto or not? Verto is 30mm non is 1 5/16"

Hi,
Yes thats the bugger. It's fits front hubnuts, front subframe tower bolts and steering wheel as well.
Minispares sell them, thats where I got the size from as mine is a Whitworth socket!

Sorry I was on about the size of the head e.g what socket size I need to get not the thread size..

guessing that 5/16 is the thread size?

yup, same size as the hub nut, steering wheel and tower bolt, and the cam and crank too i think.

No, that is the size of the socket, one inch and five sixteenths.

Wrong, the flywheel bolt is 1 1/2", it is the crank pulley retaining bolt that is 1 5/16". Verto is indeed 30mm.
1 1/2" socket also fits the ball joint domed nuts (on minis).

I'd buy all three, they will come in oneday and there is nothing worse than finding you need a tool 5 minutes after the shops shut on a Saturday when you'd put the weekend by to work on the car.

Very true!! i had to stop working yesterday as i needed this.. have a socket set but not this big, a wise investment.
