I want to get my turbo engine running in the garage to check it's a runner/not broken, the turbo distributer it has is the early type with the strange module that plugs into a connector block. I don't have the module, so I have shoved an n/a electronic distributor in and now gained a healthy spark on crank over. By rotating the body of the distributor slightly left will I avoid detonation due to the differing advance curves.

Should be ok to check so long as there is no load and you set it "safe" advance wise. Every day is a school day ...........
