Layshaft is different, gear tooth profile is different, idler gear shaft size is different, apart from that not a lot.

i was led to belive the mainshaft is slightly smaller aswell?

just bought a set of pre a+ jack knight roller drop gears. All i need now is a gearbox lol!

1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

A+ usually have a 3 bolt C clamp bearing retainer, instead of the old A 4 bolt.

The 4th bolt hole is at the weakest part of the centre web, which could cause premature cracking...

Even though the A+ cracks too with no hole !!

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Yes they do.

Only 90on gearboxes approximately have got the three bolted C-clip in my book. I never had problems.

The mainshaft in in the A+ gearbox is 18mm, the A is 14mm at the end. This is the end that goes into the 1st motion idler.

Yeah ive seen this i think its about £26??

Ill have a look!

Oh and does anyone know if you can buy the outer Top Hat sepearate as the guy says theres some pitting on the ones i have bougth!
