My mum thought it would be a good idea to have a move around last weekend and put a pot plant on top of my external harddrive, and give them both a good watering.

Im not too fussed about most of the porn, i mean work, on there, but the songs i did actually pay for (iTunes Store) im a bit miffed about losing, surely iTunes knows which ones Ive paid for and can send them to me again??

Is this possible? and if so how do i do it?

Dry your drive out, it's sealed so the water can't get into the actual drive....

All might not be lost mate. I have had 2l bottle of coke (how much more destructive a substance can there be!!!) crack and leak through a bag with my portable hard drive in and after 2 days in the airing cupboard followed by a day to settle back to room temperature I could recover all the data from the drive.

Worth a try. If anything is likely to be damaged it is the interface board .... try linking the drive directly to an IDE controller on the PC ....

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

It's good for oil on clutch plates though, but only genuine full fat Coke, your diet rolla cola shite is no bloody good!

its a bit of a cut n shut hardrive, its out of my old laptop, just put inside one of those £5 cases, its shagged...tbh it was 'fragment' before xmas according to one of my boffin mates

Itunes is a pain in the ar*e, i love my ipod but hate itunes, why cant they just have a simple removable drive interface like any other mp3 player.

Itunes Music Store Says “In the event that a customers entire music library is lost, the iTunes Music Store does re-grant the purchases history. Please keep in mind that Apple does not offer protection against the loss of purchases, so this is a one-time exception.”

Is it just me or has apple very rarely granted this. Well now you can hold this to them when you lose all of you music.

Update:

The Episode of Firefly that messed up was put back in my purchased account and all I had to do to download it was “Check for Purchases” under the Advanced Option.

i can burn a cd, but the rest is a mystery! Cheers though ill look into it (arent they mp3s that itunes sell? or do they change when you rip them?)

You wouldnt know how to get rid of that pause between track on itunes would you? ive tried messing with that overlap thing, but it never works right on compiled mixes...

did the 'check for purchases' and it gave me about 15 songs back...

wtf....ive bought hundreds including whole albums over the last few years...?

itunes, the biggest load of shit ever. don't get me wrong the ipod franchise is great and i'd own anyone of them, but luckly for me i got a sony nw-a1200.
