When I was at Uni I used to use text pad for most things, including HTML & C.

Hi,
I couldn't get on with Dreamweaver, but I'm now running my own server with 4 FP websites on it.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I did the when i was an MA at the council. Just using an HTML book for Dummies. Boring as hell at first but the site starts to come together its quite rewarding.

i use photoshop for my designs slice and dice em in that aswell, then make my table layout in dreamweaver. fine alterations i make are useing the code tab of dreamweaver as its pretty user friendly imo. front page i wouldent bother with as one its a pile of poo and second of all its made by microsoft who are specialists in things such as word
and excel. where as macromedia made flash and cold fusion and all that stuff, its very well thought out and aimed at makeing very high quality websites aswell as being able to just make a quick fact file or whatever with no design, altho it does seem complicated to start with most of the options you will never really use.

dreamweaver has a great text editor aswell, i use that as much as possible.

also a little off topic but will help you to get used to dream weaver is this link here

http://www.slicingguide.com/

i learn how to slice before i found that

(sliceing is makeing a picture in an image editor of how you want the website to look, then basicly cutting it up into lots of smaller images and formatting it for a web site)

well this is the link

http://www.slicingguide.com/

also another couple of link that may help you is

http://www.pixel2life.com

if only i found out about that when i was learning also lol! , oh when you see the properties box on the tutorials where you dont have one its because there is a little triangle bit you have to click on, hope that helps!

CSS is the future. Beware of the box-model issues between IE and Firefox though, can be a major pain if you are not expecting it!
