A mate of mine came and did some plumbing in my bathroom back in NOV/Dec he asked if rather than payment could i help repair his car, a nut from the airfilter had got stuck in a valve had damaged the valve, he originally stuck the valve back in but it was breaking rockers, he got fed up with it and it spent 6 months outside and 6 months in a barn
I agreed to repair the head and get it running ready for MOT originally

Got car back and the damp barn had done its worse, so he asked if i would replace the wings, then he wanted a flip front i had my reservations but being to soft with people i agreed













I did not do much the end of Jan though to end feb, i sliced my hand quite bad trying to get the non genuine panels he supplied to get anywhere near a reasonable standard of fitment, i lost the plot when i slashed my hand and the y ended up bent in two in a skip and i went and got heratige panels

Well i refurbed the head with new inlet valves, new lips ect were hand made from stainless and let in, all the edging was again made from stainless and let in, all this took a huge amount of time and we had a minor falling out over it culminating in sammy slamming the phone down on me last weekend when i said i had to spend the weekend fixing my pug, when i originally agreed to do the car there was no time llimit and as it went on i ended up doing 3 times the work i agreed to do and then there was time limits that i needed to get it done by

dropped it off last night, its not running due to battery and starters fucked but i really had to draw the line somewhere with what i was being asked to do, i have learned a valuable lesson in that i will pay for works done and if someone wants the same from me its time and meterial based charges as well

unfortunetaly hes still slagging me off, i did not make the wiring removable due to
1) him slamming the phone down because i was taking to long
2) i had spent far to much of my own money already
3) i felt it did not matter how much effort i put in he would never be happy

NEVER work with/to friends or family! Serious, the amount of times we have been shafted by 'friends' because they think they can get away with it.

hes taken it to a garage to finish the rest of the body, the garage has pointed out that the floors are rotton and some how this is now my fault, also that the front now needs welding on as he was not happy with the final fit of the front as it did not fit the same as a welded on front

the fronts been welded on and the scuttle and wings have been filled with filler and the wings to front panel has been filled with filler

if there was ever anything wrong with it then theres no way now of telling
