Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum and thought i would say hello and let you in on my plans for the car i have just bought.

First off top job on the site it's very informative *wink*

This is my mini bought a few weeks back..
It's a 998cc mini 25 1984

As you can see its had some work done to it but unfortunaly not to the best standards and is looking a little sorry for itself so at the moment it is in having some welding done and sorting some electrical issues.

After driving the car i fell in love with it but the plan was always to pop a turbo in and with a bit of luck i found a complete 1330cc for sale with the following specs..

refurbed t3 turbo,
carb rebuilt with kit,
stage 3 morspeed head, with larger chambers to lower cr.
new valves and double valve springs fitted,
minispeed forged highlift rockers, 1-5-1
gen turbo block, decked, chem cleaned and machened +060 to 1330cc new core plugs fitted and painted red,
brand new silicon oil feed pipe fitted
brand new braided steel oil feed pipe fitted,
avonbar phase 2 cam fitted,
bleed valve fitted. set at 10psi,
dump valve fitted and pipe machened into inlet manifold,
brand new pistons sent to v-maxx and machned out by a further 10cc each so i think they have a 15cc dish again lowering the cc allowing more boost. brand new rings
brand new high output avonbar oil and water pumps fitted,
FULLY rebult box loads of new bearings and parts fitted cost a bomb!
v-maxx scart clutch
4pin cross diff fitted,
all new gaskets and oil seals on whole of engine,
crank reground, with new mains bearings fitted.
all bearings are brand new,
block and head mached for 11studs
reconed electric dizzy and brand new leads
duplex timing chain
brand new oil cooler fitted.
compition head gasket fitted
brand new alternator
centre mains strap fitted.

All i need to get is an intercooler setup and odds and sods like an mpi fuel tank etc..

With fingers crossed after the london to brighton run i will be getting the engine fitted in and should be road ready in the next 4 weeks.

nice spec! Keep us up to date with the build.

Only 2 things i'd comment on is, if possible increase the boost by using an uprated actuator rather than bleeding, will make it nicer to drive. And you might want to look at non-verto clutch setups as you'll be making a ton of power with that setup. Look forward to seeing this in action soon. :)

It maybe a good idea to get megajolt instead unless you already have the dizzy, can ajust the timing to get more power and a better drive, have a search a few people on here have already done it.

I like the sound of megajolt, however the only thing that puts me off is the amount of electrics and wiring, is there much associated electrical buggery or am I just afraid to embrace technology?

Hi,
It's not too bad. Get the edis stuff on the engine, you can then start the engine to check that bit is right before moving on to the ECU.
Cheers,
Gavin :)
