Just got the beast fired up,but struggling to get fuel. The pump is in the boot, this is ABOVE the tank, say 25cm,could this be the problem?I also have a glass bodied filter on the suction side and you can see fuel frothing in it.Thanks,

Providing your beast is a turbo.....

have you taken the filter/restrictor out the tank?

glass bodied filter sounds a bit pony. you should use a proper injection filter

the pump should be below the tank but i have used the metro turbo pump in the engine bay of a mini at the top of the inner wing and it worked fine.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

below outlet of the tank is where you need the pump*wink*

idealy mounted on the outside on the subframe with some rubber bobbins and a plate securley fasend on

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

just remembered this is a midget is it not?

still the same applies, the metty pumps dont like lifting fuel much due to their design. they prefer a gravity feed to the pump inlet.

I would go further, and say they must have a good clean supply of fuel that is gravity fed.

ie, feed at least 12mm diameter, same as pump.

Thanks fellas,as Iain says, this is a Midget,so no subframe.I can make something to get the pump lower tho.The more fundamental reason for the problem however, was the lack of fuel in the tank!Remember, insanity is inherited, you get it from your kids.....

Hi,
That would cause the air in the system *wink* LOL

Aother way to do this might be to use a swirl pot in the boot, run the turbo pump feed and return from it,and feed the swirl pot with a Facet pump on the existing tank supply. Any comments?
