Anything to help the engine breath can't hurt m8. Maybe wrong, but I think you have to have a filter on it for road use.

Catch tank is a good idea. You really have three choice of what to do with the breathers.

1) Feed them back into the carb. Not ideal on a turbo engine.

2) breathe them to atmosphere, gets the engine bay a bit oily.

3) use a catchtank (which will probably have a filtered breather ideally). Catches the oil and reduces oily mess under the bonnet.

Well that's how I see it.

If you are racing at all you will need to have a 1 litre (Min.) catchtank.

ok thanks alot i may get one then sound like a good idea. are the ones of ebay the bling ones any good or is it just the case of a catch tank being a catch tank.

Mine is from Ebay, it's nicely made. but it's heavy, and not big enough.

Good for road use though.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

mines from the timing chain breather into a T from the rocker cover then to the tank. then mounted on the passenger inner wing.

let me know what size I/D pipe going to catch tank, size of tank......and do you want filter included. See what I can do....
Alloy welding is my weakest link, so abit of practice needed.

Not it doesn't fill up at all, but the regs state 1 litre and it's only 650 ml

Inlet diameter im guessing the same as whatever the standard breather outlets are?? Yeh with a filter would be nice and possibly a drain plug and sight gauge (the two outlets with bit of clear hose between would be a simple solution)

Any other thoughts?

I think im going catch tank route now, after finding my breathers blocked!!

If you were to mount the catch tank higher than the rocker cover would you be able to run a return back to the rocker cover (gravity drain from catch tank)?

Got some 18mm tube. So can do some to suit and weld outlets on rocker box if required.

surely 1/2" diameter tubing will be suficient, anyway, the breather oulets are only that big...
