Remember to strengthen the damper mounts, or they will inevitably break! On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

A couple of threads on that already but most make up a braket of the back-plate bolts to share some of the load. Only really a problem if you have a weighty car or a fat arse (like mine) ... lol Every day is a school day ...........

Vegard means that one should strengthen the towers where the coil overs mount the the car. He has had a car with coil overs lifted the rear wheel wells of the bootfloor. |

Is it wise to put a piece of tube between the tops of the 2 tower tops? Abit of extra strength. Lose boot space though...

Also I think some one brought up in a past coilover thread, making up supports off the brake back plate to support the pin on the radius arm where the shock mounts, as this may be a weak point.

I think that supporting the lower pin is what Roger was referring to at the top of this thread.

Danboy is right .... if you have a cage extend it through to the arch tops to help support the loads from coil overs.
