ok this might sound stupid but im gonna ask anyway.

from what i read, the T3 doesnt kick in untill 3k ish revs. so untill then, it drives like normal, right?

and its not like you HAVE to heavily mod the engine if you dont use much psi.

so based on all that ^ you can use pretty much standard internals. i know this probably been covered many times before, im tryin to convince myself into doin it without breaking the bank!

mic , a t3 with a stockish low duration cam will start to work at around 1800 rpm .

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

IMHO if you run stock boost, you could run standard internals (ie non turbo) with no problems, and for long peroids, with carefull maintenance, however for added security i would still use an intercooler :) the killer from what i have heard is not getting CR right and fuel octane levels, both are crucial or the dreaded detonation occurs.

i think there are a few peeps on here who have used stock N/A blocks n pistons etc and ran high(ish) boost without issues, just got to do ure homework. you could run stock block and lower the cr by getting the chambers cut from BENROSS, this is not really an expensive mod (in the grand scheme of things) run 4 - 7 psi max boost with a cooler, keep everything else stock, u should be ok, but if you intend to 1/4 mile or throw the car around, be prepared for diffs and drop gears to eventually fail.

remember cheap build does not equate to not doing homework *wink* after all research costs nothing and can save you big bucks in the long run.

Hi,
What Richie said really. I'm going to be running 10psi on a stock Mpi engine and box, with IC and mappped ign.
This will push the box and drops to their limits. Don't leave home without a X pin diff though!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

i think this all comes down to how your going to drive it, ive stuck with the standard SPI gbox (rebuilt) and uprated my diff pin and planet wheels. i think this will be plenty strong enough for me running a max of 10 psi.
mines a daily driver and i dont think im colin mc crae though, but if your taking it on the track i would look into a few more mods.
only my opinion mic

I'd be interested to know what BHP is coming out of stock(ish) lumps with the turbo between 7 and 10 psi max boost. Anyone tell me?

I can't see the being a problem using standard internals upto 10psi.
