Thinking about moving from my ISP and am after peoples experiences and recommendations. Reliability, low contention and good customer service are the main thing, not fussed about webspace and cost not a big issue.

Thanks

Neil

Get what you pay for mate. Im in telecoms etc.

Tiscali are ok if you want cheap no frills BB. 12.99 ISH

Then you have companies like ZEN, Was with them for 3 years, ultra fast service/never had 1 problem at 3 different addresses over 4year, BUT there 24.99 a month.

Stay clear of the bundled packages like talktalk etc. (But Sky have one, never heard anything bad...YET)

But basically as the saying goes, if you pay less, expect less.

DO NOT GO WITH TISCALI!!!

Been nothing bit shit since we went with them. We're going to go away from them soon. Zen (best ever ISP), BT, Pipex, Nildram.. any of these are OK

Ive got the bt homehub thing. Never had any problems but a friend also with them has. However he says in their defence you always get to speak to someone and quite quickly (ie not on hold for ages)

I have the talktalk package.

It is extrordinarily cheap. However, their self help software was no help, so get deleted. Their (indian) call centre is a pain though. Never really been much help and it costs loads to call. Luckily it's been very reliable.

Was with Orange before Talktalk, and they were total shite. Was without internet for over a month when they 'upgraded' my connection.

I ditched tiscali after moving house. When working it was fine, but trying to move house proved impossible. Hours on the phone to have an argument with an indian who didn't know what to do. eventually I called to disconnect and spoke to someone in britain. She understood the problem and sorted it out there and then, but I had already decided to leave.

I am now with eclipse. It is OK, but has a habit of hanging up at busy times, but that is what I pay for. No indian call centres though!!

Hi,
Idnet all the way.
Phone answered in 5 rings, you get a clued up person at the other end, problem solved.
Speed vastly improved over previous ISP despite both being 8meg connections!
Good price too!
Cheers,
Gavin :)
