I was swaping out my water pump and finishing up, when while repositioning the altenator I got a quick spark and smoke. Now when I try to startup i get nothing as if I have a dead battery, but the battery is still putting out 12v. Any suggestions on where i should start the prolem search?? Electrical is definately not my thing. Thanks in advance

Hi,
Check all battery and solenoid connections.
Check engine earth strap!
Undo each connection, check it's clean and shiney and tight fitting. If that lot's ok, check the brown wires on the igntion switch, should be live all the time.

Check your fuses and starter solenoid.
