Hi all,

wondering if any of you guys could help. Recently the engine management light has been popping on,

It comes on under full to three quarter throtle, when the revs reach 3500 rpm to 4000 rpm, the car jumps into limp home mode and is flater than the 998!
Its gradually getting worse!

Had the engine diagnostics done today and the offender is a miss fire on cylinder 6! so they changed all the electrical side (coil sparks ect,) from different cylinders to 6 and put 6's electrical stuff on the other cylinders, but each time cylinder 6 is miss firing!
Then the hour ran out! and for £100 an hour labour i told them il take it to a local garage!

So i was trying to think what it could be, any sugestions? I thought it could be the fuel injector? any help would be greatly apprecciated!

thanks martin

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

make sure there is a spark there by connecting a spare plug and starting the engine

if there is and the compression checks out ok on the cylinder the problem will lie with a Goosed injector!

hope this helps!

Hi,
I had a BMW come into work doing this, turned on to be the wiring shorting out on the top of the engine, when it happened it shut off the injector too.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Bat we had a spat with it were it would say the indicator was blown and put the replacement on then a few days later go back to normal! the the cd player started playing up, so ill have a general look at the wiring to see if theres anything obvious there!

Well im gonna go out and do the comp test but, theres 12 spark plugs!

i know which is cylinder 6, so do i just remove one plug and test then do the other one, or will one side do?

theres afew things that make me think an earth could be involved but i wanna try theses first!

Hi,
Leave 1 plug in each cylinder then test away. It's a guess cause I've never worked on one myself.
Cheers,
Gavin :)
