Some tanks use an internal collector with trapdoors....

Mine has this...although not by choice.
I wanted a "sumped" style tank, which had a small reservoir at the bottom, below the main tank, which should always remain full of fuel. Obviously this would have some form of baffling at the top.

Build ths sump as big as it needs to be.,....

You really only need a reservoir of fuel down tere for say 30 seconds of hard fuel slosh...., so 1 litre in most cases should be more than adequate. In fact, given most Minis are carb'ed, smaller would do, as the carb itself has its own small reservoir-the float bowl.

My tank also uses foam...but unless the tank is designed with suitable openeings, its not a replaceable item.

My tank was welded shut with the foam inside...
When chooisng foam, also choose a foam compatable with all fuels you might use.

ie..my foam is not suitable for use with methanol, so I couldnt really use meth in-tank...

I like nice quiet girly Minis

Jason ..... tanks ciould be a good side line for you!!!

Think about oil catch tanks and header tanks too ..... I keep looking but can't find the blend of quality and price I'm looking for ..... well I almost did but since it weighed about 1kg for a 1 litre tank I think it's a bit on the heavy side!!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Nice idea Roger, but not enough time in the day at the moment. Could be on the cards in the future. Got to knuckle down & do my car. :)
