First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

Typically after taking my pics this morning, i went to put the car in the garage and it wouldnt start

Tonight i discovered i had a fuel pressure of over 15psi

I took the regulator apart, and the diaphram looked ok (no obvious splits), but a little bit aged (stiffer than it should be)

I put it back together but couldnt get below 9psi, and when i tried adjusting it it made no difference, eventually it shot up off the scale again

I presume the diaphram is knackered, can anyone confirm this is likely?

Cheers

Nic

Hi,
It's usually a restriction in the return pipe that causes this. Have you tried it using a separate bit of pipe into a can for the return.
I would be surprised it's the diaphram as the spring controlling it is stronger.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

yep that could well be trye nic , a good give away is ,when you unscrew the adjuster on top ,take it right out and see if any fuel comes out ,if it does thats the diaphragm leaking big boy !

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

i was going to say have you kinked (ooo err!!) the return somehow?

if nothings up with the reg (i'm sure someone can post you a spare to try) then thats the only thing i can think that would do it. its a simple system.

Then it must be knackered, shouldn't be fuel on that side of the diaphragm.

at college in the week the teacher was talking about momentum, and using the balls that you swing and when they collide the end one moves off

"I call them adult toys" he said.

I instantly errupted with laughter and continued to snigger for the next 5 mins
