pinking?

hey, just got my metro turbo back after removing the ecu and fitting a intercooler. boost is set to 7psi and yet its started pinking at high revs?????

tried adjusting the timing etc and it hasnt stopped it......

any ideas.....?

running lean . the ic had made the incoming air denser /cooler ,so more air and the original amount of fuel means a leaner mixture ...file that needle !

What have you tried setting the timing to?
Are you sure it's running 7psi?
Have you checked the fuelling?

yeah its definately set to 7psi,
sounds like it could be the needle......
it does starve it self at about 3,500rpm and then by 4 its fine.

umm the guys at the garage tried retarding it etc
not exactly sure what they did but the only thing they could think of was lightening the weights in the dizzy!!!!!

I'd strongly recommend a trip to the rolling road. Get it setup right, it'll perform better and your engine will be safer!
