Ive rang every large UK breakers that I can find. Motobins, motorworks, sherlocks, I even contacted beemer boneyard overseas, but no luck!!

They can be ordered new but their nearly 3 times the price, seems silly spending that much money to chop it up!

Has anyone got a spare that they don't need or know of where one is available it would be gret appreciated, I cant do anything more till ive got one....

Cheers

Matt

could try morspeed...

I know they have made some 8v ones, maybe they have done some 16's too?

Actually, I just remebered, they have made some 16v ones that look like 8v ones (all square, like with a filler hole)

That is a good point. They have had them fabricated for their conversions, so they MUST have a handfull of plain K1100 ones available for all these engines they've built, and supplied their own cam covers with.

Or, they'll probably sell you one of their own?

I'd have thought the 'usual suspects' in the UK would have had one... I guess not!

LOL!

I didn't think of the old one morespeed would have taken off, thats a damn good point.

Matty, If you REALLY get stuck for one I can lend you one until you can replace/ source one.

I did ask when I collected my head, but he didn't seem to have any spare and couldn't give me a price on the ones they sell with filler caps!

I only need the cam cover now so I can chop the bit off the end on the mill before reassembling the head, and to finish making the side plate!

Thats very kind mini13...if I don't find one in the next couple of weeks I may take you up on that just to get the side plate finished.

Thanks for the suggestions guys :).....The search continues......

No worries, I got mine as a "back burner" project before the price got ridiculous so won't use it for a while.

Just a thought, but you could get an 8v cover and chop the "wrong" bolt holes out and get them tigged back in where they need to be.

If you happen to come across a cheap 8v cover i'd have a go for you if you like.

Thats not a bad idea. Theres one on ebay at the moment, 99p. I'll keep an eye on it, as that could be worth a try in the intrim to get the build back on track.

Any excuse to get they Tig out ay! Lol *wink*

I think you'll find more differences than just the hole spacing tbh.

My sources are all dried up I'm afraid...
Actually - I do know of one, but he wanted $85 or so for one; which i thought was too much. I am pretty sure he won't ship to UK though.
If that isn't too much - then perhaps I can assist you in sourcing one - if you're desperate.

Well the going rate here is 45 quid (ish)second hand. And about 110 new!

Works out about the same. Not sure what shipping costs would be mind!

If you wouldn't mind having a search Dave that would be much appreciated. :)
