82 degrees but you can get 74 degree switches made to order.

I seriously doubt it!

Hi,
82 is too low, the stat wouldn't be open then.
According to a the catalogue it's 97 on and 92 off, part number SNB 748 fits Nissans and a fair few Rovers.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

As Gavin states if you look through parts catalogues you'll find it's a fairly standard fitment. I am running an 82 deg one from a Nissan with my 1380 as I find that if I let it get to 97 before switching on it can't pull it back and the rad boils over!!! Using a 74deg thermostat as well ..... not sure quite why I have such a cooling issue with the 1380 as I didn't with the previous engine

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

OK

Hmm.. as the stat is at the hot end of the radiator and the fan switch is at the cold end, I guess the stat should be well open by the time the cold end gets to 82 degrees. I believe the water in the engine gets over 100. I think I'm going to get hold of an infrared thermometer and see if I can work out what the temps actually run at...
