So got my mini over to the dyno for the first time since i swapped in the Metro Turbo engine to get the boost and fueling sorted out. Seems like I am having fueling problems where I am way overfueling at low boost and becoming dangerously lean at high boost (see chart). The tuner is not overly familiar with my particular carb (HIF44). Any sugestions on what i can do to tweak it to where i reverse the AF curve? Be kind, this is my first carburated car, so it's a learning experience. Thanks for the help

Hi,
Start with the basics ...
1. Is the fuel pressure correct?
2. Has the needle got a flat edge worn down it's length? If so rebuild carb with new needle and jet.
3. Which / how many dashpot springs have you got fitted?
4. What oil are you using in the dashpot?
Bit of explanation....
1. If this is wrong you'll never get it right!
2. As the neeedle is "free floating" it rubs the side of the jet, screws up fuelling, very common.
3 & 4 Control how quickly the dashpot (and therefore the needle) rises, altering your fuel "curve"
As the standard needle wasn't setup for 10psi your needle will need reprofiling to get the fuelling right, but make sure everything else is correct before you do that...
Cheers,
Gavin :)

checked the pressure and it was on the high sde (5.5psi). Adjusted it down to 3.5 and will continue checking items down the list. Thanks
