Someone was talking to me about is the other day and wondered if anyone has looked into this or running an engine with these mods.

What he was saying was about hot spots on the engine and how the side with the water pump will be cooler than the other side cause the water always finds the easyest way.

And he said if you could some how direct the water to the places that get hot then you could even out the tempture there for the engine would work better. Anyone any thoughts on this

He also say a friend had been doing this with a water jacket on the back of the head directing the water to exhaust ports cos thats where is hotest. therefore keep temp down anyone running some kind of set up love to here about it

cheers

I think some people drill the metro heads where minis had the heater take off to aid coolant flow through the head, how beneficial this is i dont know...

If you look at some of the miglias etc they are dry decked and have extremely modified cooling systems...

sorry if this sounds really vague, i will try my best to explain. Looking at the side of the engine and head above the clutch housing their are two copper inserts, one of this is linked into the water ways. if you take that insert out and make a collar so you can put a pipe on it. Then make a whole in the cylinder head in line with that. attach the U bend pipe then you are able to keep that piston cooler. Not very technical but i hope it make sense. I have the picture in my head what is should look like *happy*

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

I've done this on mine. One of the core plug recesses is tapped and a threaded fitting is added to connect the hose to. Then the head is drilled into the water jacket, near where the heater take off is, and the other end of the hose connected here.

i have had it done before, looks a great mod if it is done properly, whether it works, theory suggests it does, so all is good
