I've gotta replace the tail lights on the focus and will do with some normal ones as i dont have time for faffing, but has bought to my attention again the subject of these LED bulbs you can get to replace filament ones.

Has anyone actually tried and been pleased with the results of these replacement LED bulbs? I've yet to try any but a friend did have some on his mini and they were shocking to the point that they were dangerous. He had them on his tail lights and they were pathetic and only produced a very small white dot in the middle of the lense. However, things have surely moved on and i was wondering if anyone had tried any since im going to get a new set of bulbs before i put the mini back on the road?

i do recall a thread, but for the life of me i cant find it, it certainly hasnt been discussed in a while

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

I guy in Miniworld or MiniMagazine was using them, they looked like rain small rain lights to me! I have thought about them for mine, as they use less power.

i did buy some cheap £10 stop tail led bulbs from ebay. they even had some leds face the reflective coating, but the light they put out was piss poor in daylight. your best bet if you really honestly want some is probabily going to halfords (can't believe i'm saying that) as i did get some from them once, which were better quality, i.e brighter.

Hi,
You could try these guys ...

Not tried them myself, but they seem to have plenty of output.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

ive got some in mine, its one of the first things i replace on minis. in my other turbo mini i used halfords ones, now im using some from ebay that have leds that point outwards aswell as backwards, and they are bright and have added safety of coming "straight on".

stoke-on-trent

i use them on my minis too and actually find them to be brighter than standard bulbs since they actually shine red - they work better behind clear lenses i think
