Anyone else getting anything done at morspeed at the moment?

I have been waiting since 31-march, for them to get a few parts and to machine my pistons for k1100 16v conversion.

Everytime I call they say they will call back and they don't. I have paid for it all but still waiting.

Any ideas how to speed things up????

Ive been waiting since june last year for parts, and my 998cc block to be bored!!!!
Its discarceful! Ive been phoning him loads but it doesnt work! i go down there (3hour drive) and he just makes excuses!

never again! and oh im still waiting!

I have been, just writen a snotty email asking for the rest of my money back. http://www.specialist-components.co.uk/ do all the components I need and I can machine my own pistons. I would have done them myself I just thought I would save me some time to get Morspeed to do it for me.

How wrong was I !!!!!!!!

most times iam banged out with work but 99 % of the time i deliver on time

i just put more hours in, its that simple!

i have a list inorder of when its brought in and on to the next one

i have heard MANY!!! complaints off morspeed .... this is no way to run a buisness ..... its a joke! :(

Well if I don't get a refund tomorrow, it's a call to the bank man to get help recovering the money.

I had the same problem with my crank grind and piston machining before christmas just kept badgering till it was done! Did get some discount in the finish though!

Thanks for all your replies just confirms what already knew. Shame to see they have taken on too much work. Last time I had work done there I was very happy.

This time has been a nightmare and several wasted jorneys of 2hour drives.

i've been waiting since feb for my 295 head, i've emailed loads rang yesterday he said to ring today & today its just the answerphone!!! i knew that would happen today, had that feeling!

i only need my head,cam & oil pump from him i should be able to at least have my turbo'd engine running to go to avon park n back, dout i'll have enough miles on it to run the strip :( my fingers are crossed still! i'll do super late eve's on my car at home if i have too to be ready!

i'll ring ring ring & ring, i would'nt mind if he had the cam & oil pump ready & i collected those now to keep what i'm doing at home going but no word on anything at all :/

a chap in my local mini club did say to me morespeed are very good but.....

if you want somat done in a normal amount of time (around 2weeks) take ya stuff to MED but i was put off MED due to them wanting a really stupid money for doing my cylinder head

i hope simon gets it together n sorted!simon seems a nice chap fckin slow though! & alot of turbo mini chaps use him for stuff!!!

what is the saying........you can create or loose a reputation from 5 customers, somat like that anyhow!

saying that if he does a good job on my stuff i'll be happy & just plan ahead to use his service again!

i couldn't wait that long. It takes the piss.

Its not the way to run a business, either he is very good at what he does and has taken to much on or the companies a joke.

I know a few people who have said that you have to go there in person to get your stuff worked on, otherwise he just fobs you off - tells you its in the post etc.. when its not even been looked at yet.

why do people still use Morspeed? when other companies will deliver the goods on time and as requested???

it was between morespeed & rob walker for my head to be srted & i chose morespeed due to there rep on here & a mate had his pinto head done there to a good standard!

it is a long time to wait for a head though i thought, 4months

I will be using rob walker from now, his work is top notch in my experience. Even met at his own house for a little chat and a cup of coffee to save me travelling so far to meet him at the workshop.

does he do balancing? even mr bill sollis is a fan of rob walker & use's his skills so cant be bad! i have another head to do so may give him ago see how all pans out

Yep he will do balancing and just about anything you like. He is an ex Oselli man, so he knows his stuff. His headwork is pretty good not sure if he has a flow bench to give you any figures though.

Every engine builder i have ever heard of does not deliver on time, in fact there are a few that refuse to do work for the public now although i wont mention any names, simons work is excellent i just think he needs some more staff.
