Greetings!

Ive just rebuilt my gearbox with a rebuild kit.

And basically, it doesnt turn! When in neutral, it turns, but abit stiff, and seems to jam. When in 1st or 2nd it only turns very slightly, same with reverse, but when in 3rd or 4th its fine and spins smoothly.

It looks as if the two baulk rings either side of the 1st / 2nd selector are loose on the taper. Is this right? I thought baulk rings were suppose to be tight on the taper, hents why they have those teeth.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben.

Ahh ok, yeah, that sounds right. Ive never rebuilt any sort of gearbox before, so wasnt sure about them.

Thanks Benross!

Im from Horndean, near Portsmouth. If there is anyone that would be kind enough to help, I would happily bring the box to you and you can share you wisdom.

Thanks again,

Ben

Post Whore

stowmaket suffolk

with a small screw driver push the baulk rings back into the syncro's and pour plenty of oil over the syncro,s, they will grab when dry making the box very stiff or even lock up.

post some pics if you cant get it sorted

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas
