i have a 1275 A+, i have a bit of a problem at the moment trying to get my speedo cable off, i can get my hand onto it grip quite tightly but i can twist it. i have the radiator out atm to help get to it. i have tryed using rubber gloves, marrigolds and one of thoes rubber band and plastic openers but still cant get it to move *blush*.

i would like to keep the engine in the car i was wondering if anyone has a trick way to get it off easaly or of another route to get ot it (i have tried underneeth the car).

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

try a long screwdriver as a chizel from under the car to get it moving ...its painfull but may work

been there many times
could you get some small grips in ther from above ???

the top advice will work
dont forget to fit the new one with some grease on the threads, makes it damn easy for the future

Hi,
You could try and undo the 7/16" headed bolt just above the cable and pull the cable and drive out together.
I've never tried it myself, but can't see why it wouldn't work.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

well i havnt try'd using a screwdriver to try and get it moving, the really anoying bit is that the new cable has a really nice grip for it so would be a peice of pi$$ to get off i think. im going to take the driveshaft out to try and get it from there so i can get my hand arround it from a diffrent angle but im not sure it will work :(.
as for getting small grips on it it just slips, going to try another pair, cheears for the tips :)

Ive used pipe grips in the past, seems to do the trick.

As Bat says, try taking the whole assembly out first, then you should be able to pull it to the top of the engine to get a good grip on it.
