ive broken my wastegate putting the exhaust elbow on thought i was using the correct bolt i was so wrong ,so the gate has snaped off does any body have any ideas

What turbo is it?

I have a t3 in bits with a missing compressor wheel so the waste gate could be up for grabs.

Weld it up, worst is that it comes off and you get no boost plus a bit of metal in your exhaust!

obviously depends a bit on where its broken mind but its not "that" critical.

Hi,
The only way you're going to fix that it to replace the whole exhaust housing, unless you're going to grind the arm off the top and weld it back on.

oof

you need another, but you can carefully grind it around the top so that you can just see the circle of the weld, then break off the tab.

Remove the tab and the other part should drop out, clean it all up, and re weld it (but its stainless)

If you get really stuck i have someone that should be able to do it for you (for a couple of beer tokens) and im only in hereford

i wonder if all turbos use the same wastegate? thatll make it really easy finding one

Got what you need. need to pry it off the knackered turbo though.
