I believe that the turbo float is foam filled to stop it being crushed under pressure. Try either Burlen or Avonbar for a new float. You may need to phone them & have a chat as opposed to just looking at their websites. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

really? I know thats the common practice on other turbo carbs setups, but i dont think SUs bother with it...

cant seem to find any foam filled floats for this carb... ive taken one out of a non turbo carb I had lying around and it doesnt squash easily (you can deform it slightly if you squeeze it really hard with your fingers) Also been thinking about the theory, if the float gets so squashed that it no longer floats, then it will sink and I will get overfuelling, which is much less of a problem than the mixture leaning out. |

phoned burlen fuel systems today float for the su carb turbo and non turbo exactly the same part. |
