Force Racing ICT Dept Manager Miglia Turbo Am frum Yokshyer tha noes!

A chap i know gave me this flywheel which had spun on the crank and made a bit of a mess as you can see from the pics. My G Friends dad whos a tool maker re cut the taper but there is still some slight damage, do you guys think it will be ok to fit still or is it beyond it. I have put the flywheel on and torqued it and i cant turn it!

Thoughts, Oppinions welcome.

Cheers

Mike

no mate dont risk it, about 3 years ago i took the chance with a flywheel in almost identicle condition, 50 miles later it was new crank time.

theyre only 90 quid, just not worth chancing imo

do you mean the verto crank end bolt & the key thing that located on the crank fastcarl?

the ultralight flywheel i have is'nt as bad as your flywheel 1573wx & i've lapped it onto my crank & all seems well, its gotta go in the car yet though :/ i'm feeling confident it'll be ok though! i'm using the pre-verto keyway but i have heard of using the very type!

cant flywheels be refurbed/recut/sleeved&recut when they get pitted or damaged etc etc

I think he means machining a big hole in the middle of the flywheel and bolting the centre part of a verto one in

sounds a good shout either way to me!!!

i know £100 is'nt bad for a new flywheel but its a bit of a shame that there are lots of uprated/lightened flywheels around that are scrap cause of the crankhole being knackered!

a refurb on these would surely make some coins if it can be done cheap enough!
