Force Racing ICT Dept Manager Miglia Turbo Am frum Yokshyer tha noes!

Just been browsing the web and came across this page with shows compressions on minis and metros as low as 8.0:1 in standard form?? Surely this would make a good cheap turbo engine?? For a decent 100bhp??

1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

How are these standard engine achieving this compression ratio? Is it due to the pistons/Head/Both??

The low comp pistons are shite and in my eyes would not stand up to boost at all well.

did'nt will-h/ben-h get up to 18psi then they foobarred! but had a season ot two pretty reliable at 15psi, thats under sprinting/hillclimbing stress's, thats gotta be more greaf than road going tasks! no more the 12psi & 10psi general driving!

will=h/ben=hs were flat-tip pistons though, i'd have thought the material would be the same on the dissed type

i dont mind being corrected if i've made a boo boo though lool *happy* i may have done!

Betwix Harrogate and York

We use the 20773s for 3 seasons without failure at 18psi. We only started having problems when we put the T2 on and it all got a bit hot (read det).

It's all academic anyway. All of the low compression engines that you will find now will have been to the moon and back so are going to need a rebuild.

If you're doing a rebuild then you can put what pistons you like in to get the CR you want.
