I think they are being a bit vague as they couldn't exactly say chavs aren't allowed to meet up in car parks or convoy but classic car owners are...discrimination! Personally I think its pathetic and I really can't see Mr Plod having any problem with mini owners meeting up for a chat round my way!

i know many of you dont, but i attend allmost all of the "cruise" events in and around my city, they are always a good laugh with like minded people and rarely any trouble. Problem is there is alot of little retards that also drive around glasgow in a reckless manor. and becasue bothparties have modified cars we are guilty by association. its legal discrimination, nothing more!

i was thinking if somehtign similar came to lgiht in glasgow i'd intentionally fone the police for every automotive related gaterhing or convoy, be it classics, hot-rods or a wedding/funeral. the more people the law outrages the more likely it will be binned.

the bit that pisses me the most is that they lcearly say its aimed at the modified car movement. blatant discrimination. would it be ok to put out a press relice sayign something was "aimed at (insert skin color here) people?

I'm afraid it's yet another example of a law making body not knowing what they are passing laws on. They do not associate the engineers and dedicated people who spend a lot of time and money on their cars as mods... they lump them in with the chavs who weld on a 6" section of rusty old pipe to their exhaust and claim it adds 35 BHP
As for aiming at them... I do- there's nothing like the look of panic on a chavs face as he realises that you're NOT going to stop, are in fact accelerating, and aiming for him LOL

I kind of agree with Wil here. It is aimed at the people we think it is. It just gives the police more leverage. Also by putting it on wbsites and forums like this the word gets out that it could mean a 2 year jail sentence and it deters some people.

Bloody good idea.

I went to the nearest town lst night to pick up my youngest lad.

Parked in the car park near the bus stop.

It was full of youngsters in car being effing stupid. Pulling all kinds of stunts that put their lives and others at risk.

I feared for the safety of my Mini and got out quick.

The police need powers to stop this sort of thing.

Previously when i have attended events such as 'cruises' 'meetings' or 'convoys' they have mostly been very well organized, safe and fun drives.

Police's favourite seemed to always be handing out producers for no reason!! WTF?

Few years back attended a night out at Weston-Super-Mare where we were pre warned to bring MOT and Insurance documents, after convoying along the seafront for a few hours and many many many producers being handed out...........This is the good part........

about 150-200 vehicles congregated in the town centre around the police station to produce documents. LEGALY!!

its all a shower of crap these days i think!

my dad chucks the slugs n snails from our garden to any random neighbors yrd at around 11pm, pointless but fun, should he be imprisoned probobly hehe lol

as for ppl going to these cruises, be honest, most of can tell a "twat" driver from an enthusiast about motors in general! & i think the police can too!

i've been pulled loads for stupid things like no wheelarches, no numberplate (i did'nt know it had come off at the time) speeding to get away frm an old girlfriends dad chasing me in his car hehe the policeman recorded me over 4 miles at an average of 98.2mph & top speed of 135mph, that should have been an automatic ban but i was let off as he was a fair copper & seen my side! i've not acted the arse on the road since do to him being fair 'n' square about it!!!!

i've always been fine about being stopped, produced docs when asked & alls ok! dont be a nob to them & they tend to be fair, if you admit str8 up you were drving badly they're ok, if you try to cover up they'll hammer you for it!!!!

coppers are just people like me n you - be nice to them and they are reasonable. have to agree with you though clubminiflip that accidents are bound to happen, but if driving like a knob you're more likely to have an accident. Is this a local county thing or a government trial do we know?
