how do all, i've been looking at this same topic from the search facility "sensor brackets" i'm going to need one soon for my own megajolt install,

i dont mind a little fabrication, its not to far beyond me as i can weld & cut my fingers with tin snips, grinders, or any sharp tool *happy* hehe

anyway, is mr fenton making these? i know he made some rather good ones, i dont mind making my own i just need some ideas, hints & tips of how its mounted & from where, it looks to me at the mo that the rad bracket can be partly used, i have some 3mm thick steel plate knocking about here!

any pics & info would be most useful at the mo, cheers all!

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

This is mine (before I painted it!

It's not as beautiful at Tom's, but functional and cheap. Done 10 to 15k miles no problems. 3mm plate I think (maybe 4mm)

Im in the process of getitng some brackets sorted. But im waiting for my mate to collect a block for me to try it out on. Im a bit reluctant to start taking mine apart as Avon is only round the corner etc..

Roger is machining some pulleys up, which reminds me i need to speak to him...Lol

Ah, that's given me some ideas how to do mine. My last few attempts were a bit tricky to fab. Thanks Wil!

cheers will i've been looking for ages for that pic & could'nt find it lol *happy*

once my engine is in one piece i'm gonna fabricate the brackets for the sensor & coilpack on the workbench to make life easier!

my megajolt silver box & edis unit thingy will be inside the car, if i get time i'll put the fusebox well.....most of the front loom inside the car to tidy it up a bit!

your bracket holds the sensor ok then will, i read that vibrations can cause greaf if the sensor is'nt mounted nice n solid! thats why i thought 3-4mm plate, it'll be hard enough to bend!

my lil welder will be on full power to weld 3mm plate *happy*

i'm just waiting on about 6 items to arrive in the post to make a start :/ getting there steadily though!

just unsure if the drill i have has enough in it to drill a hole in 3-4mm plate for the sensor :/ hmmmm

The only welding on that bracket is for a captured nut. It just got bent until it was in the right position (classic engineering)

The 3/4mm plate dosen't vibrate, especially if you keep the bracket nice and small. Put it this way, the TT has a similar bracket and the engine is solid mounted and vibrates like a bugger, the sensor works fine.

Hi,
I've not welded alloy with mig, but I've seen it done. You'll need Argon gas too, I think....
Cheers,
Gavin :)
