I'm in the process of removing a K100 head and I'm having trouble getting the timing chain off (don't want to have to resort to the angle grinder just yet) the chain seems to be held in by a tensioner between the two cam sprockets amongst other things. Removing this tensioner should be straight forward as it's held in with two hex head bolts, however I can't for the life of me work out what size they are, despite trying a good half dozen allen keys, can anyone shed any light?

Rob

PS I am also caked in oil as I foolishly assumed that the guy I brought the engine off had drained the oil an didn't bother to check for myself, just thought I'd share that with you.

Hi,
According to the manual I've got they're torx bolts...
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Removed the head off my K1100 today and they are allen Key ones but I didn't need to remove them to get the head off

All the allen keys I used were either 4, 5 or 6mm
