Google?

If you're concerned with handling, then don't use 13" wheels. Period!

got to use 13s only like 13s with sportspack and ive got them fitted them and painted them. not after race car handling just decent handling.

yer iv been thinking the same as you carl.

at the end of the day i love the look of 10s but 13x7 look good aswell and you can get better tyers and bigger brakes. makes sence to me anyway. also i bet you could get it set up so its atleast half decent to handle well??

cheers

Hi,
I reacon you could get it to handle better. *wink*
I can't see as a Mini would be any different to any other car.
If you reduce the height of the sidewall, biggger wheels with lower profile tyres, you'll get less flex and therefore better handling.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Don't worry about handling. do a search on 13" wheels and handling.

Roger has written some great info.

The overriding difference is the rubber springs, the reason Minis are easier to get to handle on 10's is the compliance in the sidewalls of the tyres, 165/70/10, 70 profile tyres would get laughed at on any performance car these days but on a Mini they do work well.
However that is not to say that 13's cannot be made to work, as they can and do work well but are a lot more fussy on setup.

Handling and amount of grip is NOT the same. No Mini's really handle well, but they do grip.

i never had issues with running 13's but i would recomend soldi front subby mounts and comp bushes to stiffen up the front a tad, i always get the front end setup (adjustable arms etc) otherwise ure car will follow all the painted lines up the road lol *happy*

I'm a 13" guy as many will know (arf arf). However, Jims is the first car that I have seen that looks better on 10s. I preffered neils with the 13s.

Anyway. Carl, if you get it finished before Avon, get yourself to my house and I'll set the suspension up. If not before Avon, I'll do it after.
