i have some genuine ripspeed hilo's in good condition with the key & everything trouble is they're stuck to the rubber cones, i'd obviously prefer to keep both in working order, how can i make them part company????????? well annoyed!

i've gave them a bash with a dead blow hammer with no joy! poked a screwdriver, no good! i'm really not sure what to do at all

Betwix Harrogate and York

Get a bit of penetrating oil in there, then just keep bashing.

You might need a bigger hammer or bigger screwdriver, but you are doing the right thing, just keep going.

i have cut callas's hard skin bits, on my hands frm wacking them! & my forearms are all pumped up i cant grip, i hate probs like this they are just arsey!

i spose my worst case situ would be to bugger the rubber donuts up

i was mulling over dropping them in boiling oil, or pouring it on the joint

mine were like that, stuck fast would not come off. Boiling water in a washing up bowl made them come off.

Hi,
If you've got a long bolt the fits the rubber cones(like the one for the compressor tool), screw that in and it should lift the cone off *wink*
Of course heat and WD40 not hurt either :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

the cones & hi-los are out of the car already bat! lol! buggers wont come apart! tried boiling water & thats not touched them feebs :/

thinkin about it if i drilled a hole in the workbench & compressed them against that it may help to get the wd40 in, or a decen Wack! with the deadblow mallet!

Hi,
I meant to do it off the car. Just use the bolt out of the middle not the whole compressor tool *wink*
As you screw the bolt through the cone it will push againest the bog bolt in the Hi-Lo and force the two apart....
Cheers,
Gavin :)
