The Boom Boom speaker Police!

Essex

My car has got standard (new) bottom mounts and a flywheel cover mounted poly bushed absorber thingy. I'm not sure if it has a gearbox steady.

The thing is, it has got a thermostat housing mounted top steady. WIth this fitted everything sounds good, but without it I get a vibration from the exhaust and a definate knock from somthing if you are jerky with the throttle.

I would like to find another way of securing the engine properly other than using the top steady. By the looks of the pics on here, not many of you use these.

How have you guys got your engines mounted?

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Hi,
I've not tried one yet, but I think the Avonbar one would be good.
It goes from the bulkhead to the water pump, so is inline with the flywheel housing one on the otherside. :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Benross has em on his subby onto the back of the gearbox, and the front of the gearbox plus the top mount on the clutch end, i will go for the same setup too :)

I doubt I'll be dipping into the 13's like you did though!
