i'm on a tight budget at present & cant really go to the expense of a £200 air/fuel ratio gauge with wideband sensor, whats my next best option,

from my understanding i think i can fit one to my application, i'm running megajolt & have a lamda boss in the zaust!

to me they seem very worthwhile for tuning the mixure under various engine loads/situ's & for fine tuning the needle by filing

it seems a useful/practical/worthwhile tool to have

what are my options?

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

They are well worth the money nowadays. I went with an Innovate LC1 but just got the analog gauge for now. Total cost was $259 dunno what they cost in UK. The fancy digital gauge could come later if you wanted but I am quite happy with the analog and It fits the retro look I have.

A narrow band is dirt cheap and a good indicator of lean/rich--better than nowt. You can piss around and use it to tune by watching at what point it swings but with advantages (it tells you HOW lean it is) and the price of widebands its not really worth the hassle.

can i hook up some sort of air/fuel ratio gauge though? miniminor63!

its to help to keep an eye on the mixture at whatever the revs are! then i can file a needle at the correct point at home, if ya get my meaning,

my lambda is blanked off at the mo but the opertunity is "partly there

can i use those cheapo 30somat quid airfuel gauges, i've never looked at one to see how they hook up!

LC-1 and a cheap digital voltmeter.

Calibrate the display on 0-2v, and program the LC-1 so 10:1 = 1.0v, and 20:1 = 2.0v

Mess with the dip switches at the rear of the voltmeter, and it will move the decimal point, so it display's your AFR's

Ive used a couple of them, and they work just fine. The blue display is quite bright though...a little too bright at night.

Red or green seem to be fine though.

you can do as Stevie says (actually a VERY good idea), but you can not implement the jolt into it. It does not have provision for lambda sensing.
