all together, taken my mini out today for a sgake down on how things are as now have the wideband fitted and have come across some things that i need help with

1. the boost is only really coming in at about 3500 and when it hits 4000 it really goes but is it meant to make boost a bit lower then that eg 3000, its making 8psi at 4500, what can i do to try and bring the max boost down the rev range

i have a avonbar phase 2 cam timed in at 108 degree, 8.5:1 compression and a t3, is the above normal for this set up , i think not but need some one who nows

2. will advancing the dizzy do anything to that above eg make better(not too much advance i know)

"Can I legally marry people now that I am ordained in the Church of the SubGenius?" aka i know jack sh"t

i also make things

i love coming home to chrome

Hi,
Not got any actualexperience, but with the performance cam and lowering the CR I'd say it's very likely.
A Megajolt or similar would be a very good tool to fix this.
You could put in extra advance off boost to spool up lower down, then back the advance off as the boost builds *wink*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

nogin , first check there are definately no leaks on the guage to the manifold ,and that your taknig the boost signal for the guage at the manifold itself , then make sure its all rich enough mixture wize but not too rich ,aim for 12 to 1 if poss , then floor it in a higher gear at about 1500 rpm and see when the guage moves past zero .if your runnig a dizzy id set it at 24 degrees fixed timing with the vacuum advance disconnected to check the timing then reconnected after .test the timing at 3500 and at 1500 to make sure its at 24 both places .then give it a try .
regards robert,
oh one other thing ,make sure you have a completely free flowing zero back pressure exhuast system after the turbo .

I have the same setup and the same problem. However I do have mjlj on it so will try more advance off boost.Using actuator bleed to get 11/12 psi boost now and when the turbo spools up it is mental!
