I need a tacho to go with mjlj tacho output.Reading the archive left me confused because I know very little about the different specs of Mini. Can anyone advise what spec of mini tacho would accept the mjlj output? 'Where does the engine go?' |

You can use any standard tacho if you take the signal from the edis unit, its wire 11 on the edis plug, it may be blanked off, but you can drill the plug and fit the extra cable to pick up the pin on the edis..............

If that makes sense lol That's what I did with mine, as I found that the tacho output on MJLJ didn't work with the late Rover 3 clock dash I've got fitted. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Just digging this up to see if anyone has any ideas how to get my trusty Tim tacho going with MJ? Silly question, but can I not just take a signal off the wire to the coil pack or would this be the same as the PIP wire? I know it's wasted spark so the reading will be wrong but there is a 2-4-6 cylinder switch on the back of the tacho. Just a stab in the dark, I miss having a tacho! On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

Thanks! That helps, I don't think that the Tim is an RVI but I will need to look into this. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:
