Hello everybody,

Had a shot on the local sprint track at the Alford mini show at the week end.

Currently running standard engine with moded actuator at 10PSI, 2wd cossie intercooler in good flow, uprated dash pot spring, air filer and 2" exhaust, Shell v-max 98 Ron, uprated clutch.

Actually has more than enough power and pulls well from 3k which is good for the sprint track, has standard compression and cam.

Hi boost engine should be in soon....

BTW - I took my buddy VTEC Pete out for a spin this weekend, and even though I am running her in, he gave it a name, the "Brocket"...cause I'm a brocket maaannn, nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah....

After the run it was amazing how many people wanted to see the engine lol.

My wife said it was like flys around you know what. !!

Admittedly it was the only classic turbo there...

the back end is a shade too low IMO

get the big engine in *happy*

Yep 2nd is really nice down the back straight and third seems to pull the same

I think since Ive been booting it in second and third the back end has settled a bit more lol, will have to wind up the hi los.

I didn't realise til I saw the vid and pics lol.

Have been taking it easy in first as its all stock....

I think I will need an LSD for the Hi boost engine, because even the one that is in just now struggles to get the power down *blush*

The uprated verto seems to be ok so far at 10 PSI, also, but any more and I think it would slip.

BTW hope everyone has a top time at avon *smiley* 8)8)

I wish I could. :(

The main reason I can't make it is because we are moving to the States next month. I am also going over at the end of this month for a week.

We have lots to do before we go and as we live in Alford there was no way I was going to miss the Alford mini show after all the work through the winter to get the car on the road.

I would love to be there but alas.... you guys will have a top time I am sure.

I suppose the great thing about the forum is that its global

PS we have a 40 foot container to ship our belongings over to the states, so if anyone in the states has a reasonable request for spare parts exporting from the UK let me know. *smiley* . i.e the odd diff or head etc.

Hey, was really good to meet you. (its james btw).lol. thanks again for answerinf a lot of questions.

car looked amazing, engine bay is mint as is the whole car. It looks like you have put a heap of time and effort into it. Really shows.

Cant wait to get mine on the road now. Im even worse after seeing yours! just hope it turns out as well as yours has.

Its a shame that your moving. is it permanent?

Needs must about the move I'm afraid, its an offer I cant refuse....mixed feelings about going....but will get us on our feet finacially speaking, getting a good expat deal for 2 years...

BTW best piece of advice I had when moving to the States was to get an American Express card in the UK, when you move to the States its the only Credit card that transfers your credit rating, Worked for me... but that was 19 years ago maybe there are other ways now.

Unbelievably one of the biggest problems over here is getting credit when you have no credit rating, its a catch 22, no credit history no credit, no credit no history so make sure you take care of that..

You'll love it out here - but you have picked a VERY, VERY, VERY warm place to head to... That might be somthing that'll take over a year alone to get used to. I was near dying in 95-degree heat in Tenessee last month...

So, are you bringing the mini over?

Be cool to catch you over here again fella... You should get up to Michigan at some point and have a bevvy session with me and Jacko at some point...
