Looking for assistance here guys, as I'm a bit 'out of it' having been 2 1/2 years since i left the greatest country called England...

i would stick with ford and either go for a fiesta of KA, Ka's have character, just like minis (but dont break down as often lol) |

i'd never buy a non-turbo diesel, their worse on fuel and pisstake slow.

This is interesting - I just worked out the cost for a years motoring for a Pug (just using that as an example as the data is a few links above)...

toyota starlet on p,r,s,t reg. 1.3 petrol. no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

the 1360 peugeot engine is excellent. my mates 205 rallye was still going very strong at 135,000 when he sold it.
