Ive had a look around, as far as I can tell minispeed sell "the best in the world" for around £400.

Morspeed sell the mega piston, which ive read from previous threads to be a really good piston for the money. It says any size £240 not sure whether this refers to cc or bore size, but that would be a bargain if they were 18cc. :)

The others ive seen are the accralites at £400 aswell!

Anyone got any opinions or preferances of which to get bearing in mind cost *wink* or know of any others available?

Cheers
Matt

i'm sure the only 18cc ones are the accralites and the JE's....

and somone bought the minispeed JE's and the were about 5mm to short, good for an 88mm stroke IIRC.

so its accralites.... or get some made by Ross in the US.

I have some pistons from Hypatec which i will be machining out to a decent size. Around 15cc i done a couple of tests with some old 21251s i had and i machine the hell out of them then cut em in half and there was loads of crown left.

IMO Id go with the Morspeed ones.

What are you trying to achive?

can you not take more out of the head instead and run cheaper 13-15cc pistons?

K head....still have to check my chambers for certain but going on the figures talked about so far (the head being 18cc - 21cc) large dished pistons seem the way to go or....maybe back to the whole running pistons down the bore jobbie? *oh well*

After getting my wastegate sorted my lag on my turbo (T3) is no problems what so ever so can't see the point in highing the CR. Im currently running 8.3:1 on a 5 port and want to keep the CR as close to that as possible with the new build.

I've 18cc pistons in the SC charged K engine - though I'll not be running 8.3:1 cr - or 10ps!!!!

pistons are forged Omegas in this one

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

I have omega pistons, which I think were probably about 10-12cc dish. Simon sloted the piston for the k 16v and the cc is now 16cc. That combined with 1.5mm gasket and the chamber size of 18cc which i have not yet measured comes out to 8.3:1

That is what I will be running until the pistons have had it. I would have gone accralites if my pistons had done more mile, only covered 5000miles low boost.
