Well I was at work on the Berks/Hamps boarder and jesus did it rain!

Getting home was a mission - I took the air filter off my Rover as the inlet it very high and at the back of the engine - that way I could wade through over 12" of water

When I got home I took out the new toy

Have a look!

So what was the point of having insurance?

Why not just bank the money you would have used to pay for insurance and use it when needed?

Hi,
Some muppet turned his Citroen van into a submarine in front of me on Friday night.
This meant I had to reverse the artic and trailer a mile back down the road to turn round *angry*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I like nice quiet girly Minis

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

I live just off the M5 in Gloucestershire and Candice works in Tewksbury. If you've seen the news recently you'll understand why even with a 5 hour to do 8 miles journey home we're the lucky ones.

Total damage for us was;

flooded underfloor in house taking out all the electrics

Flooded garage (only to about 2" so no real damage other than my steel stock and mini panels :(

Storage unit was flooded and as that contains a couple of rare vehicles and my old turbo sheel I was not impressed.

As I say we were lucky, I know people who have had to throw out carpets from upstairs room as they were underwater!!!!!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

this is exactly what you pay insurance for. I spend a good chunk of my professional time assessing insurance claims and it pisses me off with all the scamming that goes on. Robert, should be perfectly entitled to get your electrics checked, house dried out and new carpet.

was down in cheltenham saturday/sunday and heard people were panic buying all the bottled water cos the sewage plant had been flooded out, why do people do it? the beer shops were still open :)

coming back on sunday afternoon and going over the avon on the M5 the river looked about a mile wide and was covering the tops of trees, saw a few caravans floating in it too.

A friend who lives in Gloucester told me people were fighting over bottled water in Tescos.

Apparently the supermarkets have withdrawn it all now so the councils can buy and distribute it.

Somewhere around Swindon

it was mental!

i drive a recovery truck when needed on weekends, to put things into perspective if its a busy weekend ill be lucky to do 3 jobs and 4-5hrs max

this weekend i went in at 7am on sat and got home 230am monday i have not counted the amount of jobs i did although i covered 2200 miles in 2 days

most cars i picked up were either idiots in high end cars who did not give a toss about there expesive cars or people who were driving sensible only to be swamped by cocks in there 4x4's

couple of funny stories inc a lady who did not want to ruin her new dress and shoes so she stripped climbed out the sunroof waded though the water in her undercrackers

It sounds like things have gotten quite soggy over there! They have been running stories about it on the local 'news' here.

If any of you guys need to dry out in some warm sunny weather, the couch in my apartment is available and the beach is about 50 meters from my front door!
