Hi all,

I took my mini to be setup to run 8psi but it failed on the pressure test a valve was leaking.

Ive reground the valves in my cylinder head and had it cleaned and skimmed fitted it all back on with new gaskets and while I had the head off I upgraded the actuator to the alloy billet ones but when I drive if I put my foot down it doesn't accelerate much it just judders and pulls a bit and doesn't boost tidy. to drive it I have to barely touch the peddle.

Is there a problem with fuel to the engine do you think? It never run like that before with the leaking valve.

Any advise appreciated thanks

Have you got a boost gauge and/or a bleed valve fitted?

What boost is the actuator set at?

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Hi,
Sounds like a spark or fuelling problem.
Have you got the valve clearances set correctly?
Cheers,
Gavin :)

have you changed the plenum gasket is it right?

I got a bleed valve fitted. I havent touched the plenum gasket.

I havent put any dashpot oil in either.

I might nip down the shops after work and get new plugs and leads see if that sorts the problem and double check the valve clearances.

could be a leak on the pipe from the side of the carb to the top of the inlet manifold. if so it will idle and at very very light pedal it will pull away slowly, then give it 1mm more and the engine dies.
