... a second hand planet wheel washer (well 2 would be nice).

Sounds a bit odd, but when I built up the x-pin with 4 new washers it would not turn. I fitted the thinner fibre washers on the output shafts and it was better, but not right. Fitted the old planet wheel washers and it spins smoothly..... only problem is I have only got 2 from the old diff and need 2 more.

Has anyone got any of these (or any better ideas....) lying around in exchange for a small donation to your 'beer fund'?

Cheers,

Nick.

Hi,
There was a post about this problem a while ago. Unfortunately that's all I remember *surprised*

Still not got them. Will try Minispares North today.

Mark1275GT, if you have some let me know thanks.

I did a search on this problem and found a couple of discussions around std diffs being tight. Interestingly Bill Sollis had this problem in his DVD, but used the old fibre washers to fix it. I have done that and it's still tight.

WIll let you know how I get on.

Cheers,

Nick.

Had a quick chat with Richard from Minispares North. With all the x-pin diffs he's built he's always got around the problem by using old fibre washers. He did concede he has not made one up from the latest production batch and they may have changed the tolerance of the planet wheel washers from imperial to metric.
Got cut off before I could discuss him supplying old washers (if he's not made up a diff for a couple of months he may not have old ones lying around)

I'll try him again later, but anyone with some lying around would be a good back up.

Cheers,

Nick.

I've had no joy with tracking some down through MiniSpares. Did anyone get the chance to have a look if they had any lying around?

Cheers for any help.

Nick.
