Alex and I have taken over where Vinyl Graffix stopped, as some of you might know.

A website is in the pipeline at the moment, but the equipment is all up and running already. So email me if you want any stickers, banners or t-shirts.

hello@vinyl-works.com

As it's a sideline, we're going to make sure we can beat any genuine quote you may already have.

Edit:
The website is now up, http://vinyl-works.com

We'll do the whole car cheap if there's space for our logo.

hmmm, got me thinking now. Got a couple of firms helping me out with parts...which is sponsorship in a way. So web addys for the time being. Be plenty of room for your logo if it helps.

Vinyl-works.com now online!

After a bit of work from Nicky writing some content, we've now put the site live. Lots more to come, but it's a good start.

The site not only looks great, but lets you order your own stickers - from 15 to 60cm long, with any text you want, in a selection of great fonts and colours.

Have a browse round and let us know what you think.

Cheers,
Alex & Nicky.

It would be great if anyone can find some bugs, if there are any *wink*. But give us some feedback on ease of use, and the range of fonts.

How about an option to upload a simple image? Olviously they would have to be either monochrome on converted to such to be used but might inspire a few people...

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

We'll be adding bigger sizes soon! :) And more fonts.

As for uploading images - dont forget, plotters dont work off images, they work off vectors. If people can just upload images, I have to sit there and convert it to fector... which is annoying.

Alex, there are many aapplications which can turn monochrome images into vectors. It is fairly easy to convert most images to monochrome, however the result is all down to how much detail was on the original image.

I'll try to dig you out something. Do you have access to any programing laguages?

Not really application languages, as I do web stuff.

I'll do some googling later.

Vectors are exactly like Dxf files, ie they are lines as opposed to pixels.
There are many applications thet will trace the outline of an image to give a vector file (eps or dxf etc.) but for use in plotters for vinyl cutting it requires a considerable amount of work to smooth it all out and correct the odd anomolies (sp) the=at arise in the conversion.
Text is easy as most fonts are in vector form and can be scaled and used directly, the problem arises with Logo's and images. There are a few neat time saving dodges but they are not always useable if the original is a bit vague.
I do this most days and as AlexB says it can be a shitty job.
Regards
dave
