got one of those magnet and gauze oil traps that sit at the back of the centre oil pick up pipe, but no idea how to get the particles/filings off the magnet as the gauze is in the way...

will the gauze come off? looks to be soldered on...

anyone got one of these? how do you clean them?

cheers

Joe

ive tried tweezers, and the parts washer just made the swarf nice and clean LOL, but theres still loads on there

will a bigger magnet really work? ive got an old magnet off the back of an old sub screwed to the wall in the garage that i use to hold the tool tray lid up, cant see it working as the gauze is still int he way, might whip it off and give it a try..

at least its done its job, looks like its saved a hell of a lot of shit going though the pump...

stoke-on-trent

magnets out of a hard disk - theyre neodinium the dtrongest magnets you can get - or make yourself an electromagnet if you feel confident enough in how to do it, but try the airline first as bat and steve say

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

Chuck it on the floor a few times-itll soon lose its magnetism

This is what happened to me, when the ladies saw me falling on the floor in a drunken fashion, the little magnetism that i possessed soon disapeered

Fastest A Series Mini in the World

leeds/wakefield.

throw it in the bin, as it is, ,when these things get full of swarf they can block up,and you can imagine what that leads to,
you would be better of attatching a magnet to the oil filter, on the outside , once its past its service life remove magnet and bin the old filter, repeat process,
