well after loads of probs of late it just gets worse.

after having boost issues eg lack of psi to get them big bannanas.

had another play today, thought it must be actuator problem but after trimming pipe of were it goes into the actuator because it had a kink in it.

so took it out for a blast but still the same peeks at 13 psi then drops of to 10 psi, act set at 9.

turn bleed valve all the way and notice that there was no air hissing out so totaly removed it, still no air hissing out and only managed about 7 psi, pushed thumb over the bleed valve hole and it crept up to about 9.

so its either not producing boost or it is going some were,

my thoughts were that the turbo is goosed so took that of and pulled the inlet housing off.

all looks spot on, took waist gate of and that looks spot on with a nice cream o ring colour round the valve so thats seating correctly.

the only other option is that it is blowing past the new pistons!!!.

still tomoz im putting my old blower on and giving that a try just to ellimnate it.


but any other ideas what could be causing this would be greatly appriciated.

because it seems if the blower isnt producing enough to open the waist gate let alone grow big bannanas.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

Hi,
If you've pulled the guts out of the bleed valve, it's either the actuator is weak or the turbo isn't producing the boost. I'd be looking at the actuator...

yes looked at all the pipe work ect, chehed the actuator ect, the old blower does look spot on in every way.

tomoz im going to put the old t3 .25 ar on with the same actuator then try it,.

then i will basicaly bung of the pipe to the acuator and see what boost i get.

i bet when i do that she wont boost much past 14 psi but we will see.

part of me hopes its just the rings as they havnt bedded in properly and its cheeper to do that in the winter than buy another blower.

buy the way she is a t3 with a .36 ar zaust housing only 2 years old.

thing is even with the old goosed smoke like a pig 1380 she boosted to 16 psi no probs from a pre set 8 psi and went like stink.

this new 1310 just seems gutless now even when you do hit 10 psi.

this year just gets worse and worse i cant wait to get the clubby estate on the road now for the winter lol.

You you getting alot of blow by out of the breathers?
If it's going past the rings it's got to come out of the breathers.

my 1310 with 20 undersize rings (i know i didnt check) still went like stink on 8 psi and stuck there, so much breathing it was coming out of both ends of the engine eg seals

i have a similar problem

i shut the bleed valve and pull away in first and it goes straight up to 13psi then into second and it gets to 5psi then slowly climbs and may get to 10psi but with little go for the boost. if i cruise in any gear then boot it, it goes all the way and holds at 13psi.

then i open the bleed valve and it goes up to 18psi and is fine in every gear.

if it is a boost leak or fault with actuator i wouldnt get the high boost perfectly.

its rather strange

well i think i have sorced the problem , changed blowers and still the same, deffantly think the spring has gone weaker in my uprated billet actuator as it has a very small sweet spot were it will perfect any more less preload then its does the same.

so have ordered a new style -31 super composite spring from avonbar and i will give that a bash.

at least the old t3 stillworks ok and the new one is ok so thats a relieve.

buy the way i put some planet 15/50 spi sh oil to take me to the end of the year and buy god that stuff doesnt half stink when it gets hot. must be all that detergant they chuck in it i recon.

so watch this space i will report when fitted the new spring.

oh t3tone when you read this i need to use yours or willies laptop to redue my map.
